Keto Hacks: Cream Cheese-Free Waffles

When I’m not in keto, I rarely crave anything flour based; however, as soon as I “can’t have it” the cravings start. How incredibly annoying and self-sabotaging! Without some keto food hacks, I would probably be curled up in the corner sobbing.

I like cream cheese, but usually only on bagels. I have tried cream cheese pancakes, and cream cheese baking, and to be completely honest, the taste is not my thing. So, when I see all of these beautiful keto hacks with cream cheese bases, I try to figure out how to do it without.

Last night I picked up a waffle maker/sandwich maker/griddle/grill appliance in hopes of making the perfect cream cheese-free waffles. This morning I made the attempt, and I must say, I believe I succeeded- and at a whopping 10.5g fat, and less than one carb per waffle, I would say they are a great keto breakfast!

I served mine with a little melted peanut butter cut with a little melted butter and a dollop of cool whip (not included in the nutritional info).


For 5 waffles:

( nutritional info per waffle: >1 g net carb, 10.5 g fat, 12 g protein)

  • 2 scoops Quest peanut butter protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 tbs melted butter
  • about 1/3 cup HWC (or enough to wet to a thick, but smooth consistency)

Whisk everything until smooth, and add to the waffle maker. It’s that easy.
